Hat-trick of wins for Hursey at Grand Prix

Commonwealth Games player Anna Hursey was the standout player at the Bath Grand Prix, living up to her top seeding by winning three titles including the WomenÔÇÖs Singles.

In the MenÔÇÖs Singles, it was another success for Jiawang Song after winning his third Grand Prix in a row. However, he lost his Under-21s title, after number two seed Callum Evans took first place with a 3-0 win.

MenÔÇÖs Singles

It was a repeat of the Preston Grand Prix as Jiawang Song and Tian Yuan Liu once more met in the final. After a quick 11-3 loss, top seed Song fought back to take the next three games to win the match 3-1 (3-11, 13-11, 11-9, 11-8) and take the title.

WomenÔÇÖs Singles

The two top seeds Anna Hursey and Elena Todirca met in the final and it went with the seeding as Hursey took the title with a 3-0 (11-5, 11-9, 14-12) scoreline.

Veterans

Number two seed Rory Scott beat Scott Cooper 3-2 (8-11, 12-10, 6-11, 11-4, 13-11) in a closely fought final.

Top seed Callum Evans beat Afam Jepson 3-0 (11-8, 11-3, 15-13) to win the final.

WomenÔÇÖs Band 1

In a repeat of the womenÔÇÖs singles, top seed Anna Hursey took first place and Elena Todirca second. Anna topped the group after winning all matches in the round-robin, while Elena TodircaÔÇÖs only loss was to Hursey 3-0 (11-4, 11-7, 11-8).

MenÔÇÖs Band 2

Top seed Callum Evans beat Thomas Earley 3-1 (11-6, 13-15, 11-5, 11-5).

WomenÔÇÖs Band 2

Anna Hursey and Elena Todirca faced each other once again in the final. This time Elena Todirca came out on top, beating Hursey 3-1 (13-11, 7-11, 11-5, 11-5).

MenÔÇÖs Band 3

Zac Earley beat his twin brother Thomas Earley 3-1 (11-5, 11-2, 11-8).

WomenÔÇÖs Band 3

Third seed Swetha Khatri beat Mari Baldwin in a five-setter 3-2  (11-9, 11-7, 8-11, 9-11, 11-6).

MenÔÇÖs Band 4

Art McLaughlin beat Marc Castro 3-0 (11-4, 11-6, 11-6).

WomenÔÇÖs Band 4

Top seed Mya Sultan took first place after winning all matches in the round-robin.

Lauren Stacey took second place ÔÇô her only loss was to Sultan 3-1 (11-9, 11-3, 4-11, 11-6).

MenÔÇÖs Band 5

Chun Hang Yeung came out on top in this final, eventually winning 3-2 (4-11, 11-7, 8-11, 14-12, 13-11), against the number five seed Joseph Roberts.

MenÔÇÖs Band 6

After going 2-1 down, Abdur Rahman Kelani fought back to take the title against Daniel Nilsson (11-7, 7-11, 12-14, 11-8, 11-8).

MenÔÇÖs Under 21s

Number two seed Callum Evans took the title from the number one seed Jaiwang Song after a 3-0 win (11-6, 1-8, 11-6).

WomenÔÇÖs Under 21s

Top seed Anna Hursey beat Lara Whitton 3-0 (11-5, 11-7, 11-6).
